Escape Plan Main Theme
A space-age retro noir oddity, not unlike the game itself. Count Basie meets Juan Esquivel.
Escape Plan: A wonderfully quirky puzzle game developed by Fun Bits Interactive and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Players guide two characters, Lil and Laarg, through a series of booby-trapped rooms.
With it’s sharp, black and white visuals, gruesome yet humorous tone Escape Plan was named by CNN as one of the Top-Ten Best Games of 2012.
I created all of the game's Sound Design, and was also the Voice behind the emotive mumblings and rants of every oddball character in the game: Happy-go-lucky Laarg, inquisitive Lil, the villainous Bakuki, the deranged minions, and even the docile and strange latex-clad sheep.
I composed the game's Juan Esquivel inspired main theme, which occasionally appears as a re-occurring level piece.
As Music Supervisor, I selected over 40 pieces of music to fit the quirky and original style of the game. Turns out, if you’re looking to underscore a sadistic yet cute puzzle game, 19th-century parlor music seems to work pretty well. Go figure.
